This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit our website, book with us, join our newsletter or use the Estrella Dance App, how we use it and the choices you have.
Who we are
Estrella Dance is a trading name of Claphmont Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16912791), registered office Flat 10 Thistle House, 4 Bicknell Way, London SW17 0FD. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Estrella Dance. You can contact us at info@estrelladance.com.
We are the controller of your personal information under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
What we collect
- Forms on this website: your name, email address and, if you choose to give it, your phone number, plus what you tell us (for example your dance, level, preferred day, event details or message).
- Newsletter: your email address.
- Bookings and tickets: your name, email and ticket details. Payments are handled by [TICKET PROVIDER, e.g. Eventbrite] and Stripe; we do not see or store your full card details.
- The Estrella Dance App: your name, email, membership and learning progress, and practice videos you upload for feedback.
- Website use: basic technical information such as your device and browser, and cookies (see our Cookie policy).
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To answer your enquiries and register your interest in classes (our legitimate interests, or steps before a contract at your request).
- To provide the classes, events, trips, memberships and app you book (contract).
- To send our newsletter (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
- To keep records for accounting and tax (legal obligation).
- To keep our website and app secure and working well (legitimate interests).
Practice videos
Videos you upload to the app are seen only by you, your instructor and the Estrella Dance team. We keep them for 24 months, unless you delete them sooner or we need them to resolve a complaint.
Who we share it with
We only share your information with trusted services that help us run Estrella Dance, under contracts that protect it: website hosting (Hostinger), email (Microsoft 365), ticket and card payments (Stripe), website and newsletter emails (Brevo) and the cloud services that run our app (Microsoft Azure). We never sell your information. Some of these providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, appropriate safeguards are in place.
How long we keep it
Enquiries: up to 24 months. Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. Bookings and payment records: 6 years for accounting. App accounts: while your account is active and up to 24 months after it closes.
Young dancers
Our website and app are for adults. Dancers aged 14 to 17 can join some classes and the app only with signed consent from a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 14.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, ask us to limit or stop using it, ask for a copy to take elsewhere, and withdraw consent at any time. To do any of this, email info@estrelladance.com. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
